The males have a striking red coloration and a dark black throat and mask. Easy to spot in a green bush or tree. An aggressive species during mating season, it will furiously defend its territory and is notorious for attacking its own reflection. Even the females have been seen doing this behavior. One of the few songbird species where the female also sings. Created on one copper plate and printed in two colors, It is entirely hand painted with transparent watercolors.
