Roseate Spoonbills exhibit beautiful pink feathers that indirectly get their pigmentation from algae. This is a life size female in flight, almost identical to the male except for a slightly smaller length. Each etching is meticulously hand-painted with watercolors.

This four plate etching contains a Roseate Spoonbill, a Brown Pelican, a White Pelican and a Tri-colored Heron.  A great aspect of this etching is that the landscape grasses meet from one plate to the next.  All of the color you see on this piece is hand painted; as these are black and white only prior to painting.
